Beef Bash
May 7 & 8, 2022
Youth, grades 9 through 12, are invited to join us for a fun and educational weekend.
Beef Bash will begin on Saturday, May 7 in Ames, Iowa. The first day will include tours of the Iowa State University (ISU) campus, ISU Meats Laboratory, and ISU Beef Teaching Farm. Participants will also visit Dave Petty’s cow-calf operation before heading to Nichols Cryogenetics bull stud. On Sunday, the program will conclude with Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) sessions, marketing strategies, leadership building and career discussions.
This year's event is limited to 30 participants, and registration forms will be accepted no later than April 15.
Youth Beef Team Awards Year Begins
August 1, annually
Points begin accumulating for the next year's awards.
Iowa Cattlemen's Association Leadership Summit
December 15-16
Scholarship winners will be recognized at the evening banquet.
Iowa Beef Heifer Award Deadline
July 1, annually
Iowa Beef Heifer Award applications are due to the Iowa Cattlemen's Association office no later than July 1. Applications can be found online.
Youth Beef Team Deadline
July 15, annually
Youth Beef Team forms must be turned in to qualify for year-end awards.
Youth Beef Team Awards Breakfast
August 2022
The 2021 Awards Breakfast will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 14. Youth Beef Team members will meet in the Penningroth Media Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
